2024 Sweetpotato Field Day

Sweetpotato producers, crop consultants, agricultural industry representatives and the general public will learn about ongoing Mississippi State University sweetpotato research and outreach efforts at a field day on Aug. 23rd.
The Mississippi State University Extension Service and Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station will host the event at the Pontotoc Ridge-Flatwoods Branch Experiment Station, located at 8320 Highway 15 South in Pontotoc.
Topics covered at the field day will include weed management, sweetpotato variety development, soil fertility, greenhouse production, cover crop use, and sweetpotato physiology.
Attendees will participate in a guided tour of the station’s numerous sweetpotato projects.
On-site registration for the free event begins at 8:00 a.m., and tours begin at 8:30 a.m. A catered lunch will be provided. Certified Crop Advisor Continuing Education Units are available.
