How much fertilizer does sweet corn need?
Sweet corn is one of the most intensively fertilized crops in Mississippi. Soils should be in the very high range for potassium and phosphorus and as much as 220 pounds of nitrogen are added during the season. These high levels necessitate side dressing when the corn plants are ten inches tall and again when they are knee high.
