STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Landowners will receive insights into oil and gas lease issues during daylong educational events Jan. 24 in Lowndes County and Feb. 22 in Wayne County.

“Balancing Farm Success with Oil and Gas Growth” is for agricultural producers as they make future land-use decisions. Program topics include financial impacts, legal obligations and environmental management strategies. The programs begin at 9 a.m. and conclude after a panel discussion that begins at 3 p.m.

The Mississippi State University Extension Service is organizing these events. The first seminar will be at the Lowndes County Extension office at 485 Tom Rose Road in Columbus. The second will be at the Wayne County Library at 1103-A Mississippi Dr. in Waynesboro.
