North Miss. conference set for fruit, vegetable growers
VERONA, Miss. -- Fruit and vegetable growers, or those interested in getting into the business, are invited to a daylong conference Feb. 26 in Verona.
The 2019 North Mississippi Fruit and Vegetable Growers Conference will be held at the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center in Verona. It is hosted by the Mississippi State University Extension Service and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station.
Formerly a two-day event, the conference has been condensed to one information-filled day. Educational sessions will run throughout the day, with sessions addressing a variety of topics. Topics to be covered include fruit and vegetable production, marketing, pest management and food safety.
Register by Jan. 31 and pay just $20 to attend, a fee that covers handouts, lunch, snacks and coffee. Late registration is $25 per person. All attendees will receive email newsletters during the growing season.
