Floral design workshops open for registration
RAYMOND, Miss. -- Floral enthusiasts can learn how to make a basic floral arrangement in the Sweet Mississippi Flower Bowl workshops this summer.
Mississippi State University Extension Service agents and volunteers will show attendees how to keep the arrangement fresh and in proportion to the container.
Workshops are scheduled for June 13 in Newton County, June 18 and Aug. 9 in Rankin County, and Aug. 13 and Sept. 12 in Harrison County. Workshops in Newton and Rankin counties will be held at the MSU Extension offices. Workshops in Harrison County will be held at the Coastal Research and Extension Center in Biloxi.
Participants will use Mississippi-grown flowers from Little Bluestem Farm in Carthage, Happy Trails Flower Farm in Dennis, and Coastal Ridge Flower Farm in Picayune. Registration fees vary, and flowers are included. Participants should bring their own scissors. Registration closes one week before each workshop, and seats are limited.
Visit the Extension registration portal to register for a workshop.
The workshops are partially funded through a grant from the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce.
