Workshops will focus on risk management
STONEVILLE, Miss. -- Row-crop producers have two opportunities to develop risk management skills to use on their farms.
The Mississippi State University Extension Service and Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation will host Marketing Risk Management: Tools to Reduce Price Risk at two locations.
The Delta Research and Extension Center will host the workshop on Feb. 27 at 82 Stoneville Road in Stoneville. On March 1, the workshop moves to the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation building at 6311 Ridgewood Road in Jackson.
Topics at each workshop will include futures, options, crop insurance, market fundamentals, price basis risk, and budgeting and break-even analysis.
Both sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
