Vet camp applications are being accepted
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Teenagers with an interest in animals and veterinary medicine are invited to apply for a camp offered by the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
The MSU Veterinary Camp will provide this hands-on experience on the Mississippi State campus in Starkville. Campers will participate in interactive labs and learn about veterinary medicine from MSU instructors and students. Young people considering careers in veterinary medicine, scientific research or animal-related fields are encouraged to apply.
Current veterinary students will serve as camp counselors, and participants will get a firsthand look at life as a veterinary student. Interested youngsters can apply to attend one of two camp sessions: a day camp June 4-6 for ages 13-17, or an overnight camp June 10-14 for ages 15-17.
The registration fee is $600 for the overnight session and $300 for the day camp. A nonrefundable registration fee of $10 is due with the application. Fees include accommodations, meals (lunch only for the day camp session), a scrub top and all lab activities. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available.
Space is limited. Qualified applicants are encouraged to review the application instructions and information at http://www.msuvetcamp.com. All applications must be postmarked by March 30.
