Turfgrass field day set for Aug. 25 at MSU
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State University will offer a Turfgrass Field Day at the R.R. Foil Plant Science Research Center in Starkville on Aug. 25 at 8:45 a.m.
Coaches, school superintendents, landscape architects, county Extension agents, lawn care professionals, golf course managers, sports field managers, and turf and landscape students are welcome to attend the field day. Homeowners may attend, too, but the event is designed for industry professionals and county agents.
Topics at the field day will include turf technology, turf disease management, turfgrass weed management, native landscapes for Mississippi, and ultradwarf putting green management strategies. The event also will feature a vendor expo.
For turf and ornamental horticulture professionals who preregister, the field day costs $30. Preregistration is free for students and personnel from universities, Extension offices and technical schools who provide proof of current enrollment or employment. All participants who preregister will receive an event T-shirt.
Registration on-site is $45 for professionals and $15 for students. Registration starts at 8 a.m. at the R.R. Foil Plant Science Research Center, also known as the North Farm.
