Get tips for postharvest crop handling at MSU event
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- A Seed Technology Short Course with the theme “Storing for Quality” is scheduled for Aug. 4-5 at the Bost Extension Center at Mississippi State University.
The MSU Extension Service designed the short course for seed industry professionals. University experts will address seed storage topics such as moisture, drying, aeration, harvest practices, postharvest management and maintaining quality in storage.
Though the course’s primary audience is seed industry professionals, short course information also will be useful for people who want to improve their commodity storage practices. Continuing education units and in-service credit are available.
Space is limited to 100 attendees. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Garden Inn. The $40 registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, breaks and a dinner social. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
