MSU veterinary college sets open house dates
MISSISSIPPI STATE -- The Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites visitors of all ages to attend its annual 29th annual Open House on April 4 and 5.
The college will open its doors from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for the free annual event at the Wise Center in Starkville. The April 4 program is for pre-registered school groups only. The April 5 program is open anyone in the community.
Organizers encourage teachers to register school groups as soon as possible. To register, call Brandi Van Ormer at 662-325-0465.
Attendees can gain a better understanding of the world of veterinary medicine by learning about animal health and behavior while also having fun.
Open House highlights include a petting zoo, animal shows, microchip scanning demonstrations, animal hospital and classroom tours, and veterinary displays and demonstrations.
Older children often enjoy getting the chance to interact with veterinary students and learning more about careers in veterinary medicine.
T-shirts will be available for purchase before the event. For more information, contact Brandi Van Ormer at (662) 325-0456 or visit http://www.cvm.msstate.edu.
