Community is invited to CVM annual open house
MISSISSIPPI STATE -- The Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine is inviting visitors of all ages to attend its 29th annual Open House April 4 and 5.
The veterinary college doors will open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Wise Center, located on the south side of campus off Spring Street. The April 4 program is for preregistered school groups, while the community is welcome to attend April 5.
This year’s theme is “Animal Crossing.” One of the primary goals of the event is to open the world of veterinary medicine to visitors through fun activities and educational sessions on animal health and behavior.
Attendees will enjoy a petting zoo, animal shows, veterinary displays and demonstrations. They will learn how pets are scanned for microchips and get to tour the animal hospital and classrooms. Older children often enjoy interacting with veterinary students and learning more about careers in veterinary medicine.
