Commodity advisory meeting set for Feb. 26
JACKSON -- Agricultural producers in central Mississippi are invited to evaluate and provide direction on educational programming and research provided by Mississippi State University.
Producers of various commodities are invited to participate in the Central Mississippi Producer Advisory Council Feb. 26 at the McKenzie Arena in Raymond. Representatives from the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station and MSU’s Extension Service will discuss current issues and answer questions.
Individual commodity sessions include beef and forages; forestry and wildlife; fruit, vegetables and nuts; small ruminants and swine; dairy; ornamentals; agricultural crops; equine; and apiculture, or bee keeping. Reports on each commodity group’s research and Extension priorities will be shared during a general session.
Deadline for preregistration is Feb. 15. On-site registration begins at 8 a.m. The meeting will end at 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
The McKenzie Arena is located at 1178 Seven Springs Road in Raymond, behind the Central Mississippi Research and Extension Center.
