MSU cheese store extends hours, takes holiday orders
MISSISSIPPI STATE – The staff at the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station Sales Store, located on Mississippi State University’s campus, is encouraging patrons to place orders now for the holidays and to take advantage of products that make great additions to the tailgate.
The store’s famous cheese and other products sell quickly during the holiday season.
“Customers should place their orders by early to mid-November for Christmas delivery,” said Debbie Huffman, manager of the MAFES Sales Store. “It is best to place orders early because we always sell out of cheese. Our vallagret and jalapeño pepper spread sell out first, but we will also quickly sell out of the inventory we have remaining for each variety of cheese.”
To accommodate tailgaters, the store will be open MSU home game Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. During November, the store will be open the Sundays after home games from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
“We have prepared pork barbeque that can be quickly heated up for tailgating,” Huffman said. “New this year is the V Ham, a delicious, boneless, fully-cooked ham, ready to serve.”
The store also sells a variety of jellies, ice cream, peanut products and spice blends. It offers a large selection of meat products, such as T-bone and ribeye steaks, three varieties of smoked sausage, fresh sausage, and cured bacon.
The store is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Thanksgiving week, the store is open Nov. 21-23 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sales will resume on Nov. 26, Egg Bowl Saturday.
