Fertilizers Explained
Now is the time to fertilize some landscape plants, but there are several different kinds of fertilizers available. MSU Extension horticulture specialist Gary Bachman helps you understand what’s in fertilizer and the different types available.
Now that you understand what’s in fertilizer and what types are available, be sure you are applying the right product in the right amount. This saves you money and protects the environment.
The first step is to take a soil sample. This test will help you determine how much and what type of fertilizer you need. Your local county Extension agent can answer any questions you have about sample collection, interpreting the test results, and applying the correct products.
