Mississippi Coastal Cleanup
The Mississippi Coastal Cleanup is a partnership between the Mississippi State University Extension Service and The Mississippi Marine Debris Task Force that collectively work together to educate and empower citizens of Mississippi about marine debris and aquatic pollution and engage citizens in cleanup events to remove trash from Mississippi’s coastline, waterways, and barrier islands.

Objectives:
Participants will:
- Develop an understanding of types of marine debris,
- Develop an understanding of the magnitude of marine debris issues,
- Develop an understanding of the sources of marine debris,
- Develop an understanding of the impacts of marine debris, and
- Identify ways to prevent marine debris.
