STARKVILLE, Miss. -- A new technique developed by a Mississippi State University veterinarian may improve the long-term management of obstructive hydrocephalus, or water on the brain, in small animals by reducing the rate of surgical complications.
MSU Extension Equine Assisted Therapy Programs promote therapeutic riding experiences through educational and research-based activities. The program has earned premier accreditation status through PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship). The main goal of the programs are to develop model therapeutic riding experiences based on PATH Intl. guidelines, which require high safety and professional standards. One of the grandest and maybe gaudiest garden and landscape shows is the blooming of the Southern indica azaleas, especially in south Mississippi.
For most of the year, these shrubs play a supporting role in the landscape, which they do well, providing a great background for the warmer-season flowering plants. But in the spring when really nothing else is blooming, we can enjoy the Southern indica flower show.
