This Home C.A.R.E.S. (Community Alliance for Recycling and Environmental Stewardship) (new)
This program is intended to educate Mississippians about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling in their households to live more sustainably.
Target Audience(s):
General public, adults, and youth
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Increase overall awareness of the municipal waste stream and the waste management issues we face locally, nationally, and worldwide;
- Increase knowledge on how to live more sustainably by reducing and reusing in our households;
- Improve knowledge on how to properly recycle household materials such as plastics, paper, metals, etc.;
- Increase knowledge of litter and the effects that it has on environments locally, nationally, and worldwide; and
- Increase awareness that living more sustainably not only benefits the environment but can also improve household financial savings.
