October tour showcases pasture conservation

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Landowners and conservation professionals can learn about pastureland conservation practices during an Oct. 25 farm tour.
The tour will be conducted at the H.H. Leveck Animal Research Center on the Mississippi State University campus in Starkville. The event begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.
Attendees will view a set of new conservation practices implemented at the research center. These practices protect the integrity of the center’s pastures and Catalpa Creek, which runs through the center grounds. Specialists will explain how each practice can benefit production systems and natural resources.
A working luncheon will follow the tour. Preregistration is required to plan for educational materials, tour transportation and lunches. For more information or to register, contact Beth Baker at 662-325-7491.
