Total delivered value for 1940 to 1951 estimated from timber severance tax collections. In 1952-53, timber serverance tax collected was 3.7% of the total timber production value. Therefore, this ratio was used to estimate total timber production values for 1940-1951.

Mississippi's Timber Severance Tax was enacted in 1940. These records serve as the reference data base for the values shown in this table.
