‘Forged in Fire’ smith visits annual Forge Day Jan. 26
PICAYUNE, Miss. – Visitors to the annual Forge Day event Jan. 26 at the Mississippi State University Crosby Arboretum can see a reality television competitor demonstrate his skills.
Brandon, Mississippi, guild craftsman and world-class bladesmith Lyle Wynn will share his metalworking artistry alongside several other volunteer blacksmiths and metalsmiths. Wynn recently competed on the History Channel show “Forged in Fire.”
Forge Day begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.
In addition to demonstrations, attendees may purchase items created by the artisans or try their hand at the forge. Participation in forge work requires a signed waiver form.
Admission is free for arboretum members, $5 for nonmembers and $2 for nonmembers’ children under age 12.
