Turfgrass field day set for Aug. 21 at MSU
MISSISSIPPI STATE, Miss. -- Turfgrass professionals and others can learn about the latest research during the 2018 Turfgrass Research Field Day and Expo Aug. 21.
The event will be held at the Mississippi State University R. R. Foil Plant Science Research Facility in Starkville.
Topics include developments in turf breeding, sod production, cultural management, native grass establishment, and weed and disease control. The event will cover subjects specific to turf professionals and managers, including coaches, school superintendents, landscape architects, Extension agents, lawn care professionals, golf course managers, sports field managers, and turf and landscape students.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. The program begins at 8:45 a.m. Online preregistration is $40. Registration the day of the event is $50.
Participants can earn pesticide applicator recertification for categories 3 and 10 in Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas. MSU Extension agents can earn in-service training hours, and golf course superintendents can earn continuing education units for the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America.
