Developmental screening available in three cities
MISSISSIPPI STATE -- The Early Years Network: Special Needs program is hosting free Developmental Screening Day events in three locations around the state in January.
Children 6 months to 5 years of age will be checked for age-specific physical and educational milestones by a team of early childhood specialists with the network’s Special Needs program. If a parent, physician, child-care provider or pre-K teacher has concerns about a child’s development, this event will help.
Screenings will take place from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at each site.
On Jan. 13 in Jackson, the event will take place at the Mid-Jackson Family Resource Center at 301 Adelle St. To register, contact Shelley Ezelle at 601-432-6179.
On Jan. 16 in Petal, the screenings will be at the Petal School District Center for Families and Children at 201 West Central Ave. To register, contact Leslie LaVergne at 601-266-6225.
On Jan. 20 in Grenada, the screenings will take place at the Grenada Early Learning Advantage Center at 1276 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. To register, contact Shelley Ezelle at 601-432-6179.
The Early Years Network is a system of support services approved by the Mississippi State University Extension Service and their partners. It receives funding from the Mississippi Department of Human Services, Division of Early Childhood Care and Development.
