JACKSON – Mississippians can see the talent of the state’s youth at 4-H Day at the Mississippi State Fair on Oct. 13.

Contests, exhibits and other events will be open to the public beginning at 9 a.m. Most contests will conclude around noon. Livestock events will continue throughout the day.

All 4-H events and contests will be held in the Trade Mart, except one. Public speaking will be held in the Cattlemen’s Association building located across from the fairgrounds at 680 Monroe Street, Suite A. Exhibits will be displayed in the Trade Mart’s 4-H Village.

Contests include the 4-H clothing contest, a fashion revue, modeling squad showdown, robotics and public speaking. Science experiments and other fun activities on topics such as robotics, shooting sports and entomology will be available to the public from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the 4-H Village.

The 4-H Leadership Team will be on hand to share information about 4-H. They also will hand out free tickets for various drawings.

4-H members, volunteers and agents will be admitted to the fairgrounds free of charge before 2 p.m. with a fair pass. All 4-H activities and events are free. Admission to the fairgrounds is $5 per person for adults and children age 6 and above. Children under 6 are free. The parking fee is $5 per car.
