Learn how asset building helps financial security
GRENADA – Individuals and families can learn skills needed to survive the current economy during an upcoming seminar on asset building.
Asset Building: Pathway to Household Financial Stability” will take place from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. June 26 at the Grenada County Extension Office. Registration is required by June 20 for the free event. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
The program will provide participants with incentives to save and practice responsible financial behavior. Representatives from various organizations will discuss asset-building strategies, payday lending, prepaid cards, consumer fraud and scams, and credit reports and scores.
Sponsors include Mississippi State University’s Extension Service, the Memphis branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and 100 Black Men of Grenada.
