Gardener's Expo open to public for first time
NATCHEZ -- Area gardeners can fill their landscapes with flowers, plants and one-of-a kind art from the first-ever Gardener’s Expo.
More than 30 vendors from across the South will sell gardening-related items. Mississippi State University Extension Service professionals will be on hand to offer expert advice and answer questions. The expo will be held at the community center at 215 Franklin Street in Natchez.
The Gardener’s Expo is free and open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 2 and 3. The expo coincides with the 2012 Southern Region Master Gardener Conference in Natchez.
Garden enthusiasts are also invited to take advantage of special tours of historic Natchez and local gardens offered to conference attendees. Tickets for Friday’s bus tours can be purchased at the expo on Thursday only at the MSU Extension Service booth. Seats are $30 each. Each of the five tours will last from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Organizers encourage purchasing tickets early in the day because seats are limited.
The conference is hosted by the Mississippi Master Gardener Association and the MSU Extension Service.
