MSU holiday sales set for Dec. 2
MISSISSIPPI STATE – Two student-sponsored sales at Mississippi State University will offer shoppers many choices of holiday decorations and plants.
Poinsettia varieties and novelty plants will be available for purchase at the Dec. 2 Mississippi State University Horticulture Club’s annual holiday plant sale.
The MSU student horticulture club will sell poinsettias and Christmas cacti from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the campus greenhouses behind Dorman Hall on Stone Boulevard. Customers are encouraged to get to the sale early as supplies are limited.
Proceeds from the sale support the club’s service projects and educational activities. For more information, call the MSU Plant and Soil Science Department’s office at (662) 325-2311.
Holiday decorations, including live wreaths and garlands made by the student chapter of the American Institute of Floral Designers, will be available at The University Florist’s holiday open house on Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. At the open house, the store’s business manager, Lynette McDougald, will lead a holiday design program focused on making holiday décor with materials from Mississippi’s backyards and byways.
To sign-up for the program or to reserve a wreath or garland for purchase, contact McDougald at (662) 325-3585 or lmcdougald@pss.msstate.edu.
