MISSISSIPPI STATE -- Dairy producers in Mississippi and Louisiana can take advantage of a management conference designed to help them be more profitable in the industry.

The Mississippi-Louisiana Dairy Management Conference will be Jan. 14 at the Southwest Events Center in Tylertown. The 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. event is open to all dairy producers, dairy managers and dairy farm employees.

“The conference is designed to give useful information for improving profitability on dairy farms,” said Lamar Adams, event coordinator and dairy specialist with the Mississippi State University Extension Service.

Topics include reproductive management, heat abatement, dairy price outlook, and policy issues. A panel of Mississippi and Louisiana dairy producers will discuss management practices in place on their own farms. Commercial exhibitors will have displays at the event.

The Southwest Events Center is at 29 Highway 48 East adjacent to the Holmes Water Park. From Highway 98, take Highway 198 headed toward downtown Tylertown. Turn onto Highway 48 East and drive 0.5 miles toward Sandy Hook. The events center entrance is on the right side of Highway 48.
