Field Day

Homeschool Learning Lab

Tuesday, April 15, 2025 -
10:00am - 12:00pm

CREC-Coastal Research & Ext Center
1815 Popps Ferry Rd
Biloxi, Mississippi 39532

Join us for an exciting hands-on experience where we’ll explore the fascinating world of nature through the lens of color and texture! We’ll dive into how different plants and organisms have evolved specific colors and textures as adaptations to  survive in their environments. From the vibrant hues of flowers that attract pollinators to the camouflaged patterns that protect creatures in the wild, we’ll uncover how these traits play a crucial role in the survival of various species!

Students will take exploration to the next level by studying these differences on a microscopic scale to observe the intricate details of plant surfaces, textures, and colors that are often invisible to the naked eye.

They will then use the plants collected to create their own pieces of nature-inspired art.

*Registration closes 4/11/2025
