DeSoto County Extension Office is excited to announce the first Master Urban Homesteader Course in DeSoto County. This four day course will take place on from 8am to 12pm on February 18th, 20th, 25th, and 27th at the DeSoto County Extension Office in Hernando, MS. Over the course of these days participants will learn and participate in hands on activities including gardening, seed starting, floral design, canning, baking, and the basics of livestock and poultry management on a small farm. On the afternoon of the last day of the course we will take a field trip to Adobe Ranch in Olive Branch, MS to put it all together and see what it looks like in action.

Registration will open on November 18th. The cost to register is $100 per adult and $20 for children 12 and up accompanied by an adult. Space is limited so give our office a call at 662-469-8480 to save your spot today.
