4-H: Something for Everyone
Video by Jonah Holland
“4-H has something for everyone.” If you’re like me, you’ve probably heard that phrase a time or two. As cliché as it sounds, it’s true. There’s a wide variety of activities and clubs that ensure that everyone has a place in 4-H.
Here’s the proof:
- Interested in giving back to your community? These 4-H’ers helped put in a community garden in Monroe County.
- Like coding, robotics, and science projects? 4-H understands the importance of introducing young people to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) activities in their clubs.
- Want to be a leader in your community and state? We’ve got you covered! 4-H is here to grow the leaders of tomorrow.
- Interested in bugs, fishing, crafts, cooking, livestock, or photography? There’s a project for that! Don’t worry, those are only a few!
See? 4-H really does have something for everyone. One of my favorite things about 4-H is that it gives young people a sense of community and introduces them to peers who have the same
interests. I’ve watched strangers become best friends because they have a common bond, whether it be through leadership, archery, or livestock.
If you know of a child or a teenager who would enjoy being in the 4-H community, visit your local county Extension Office.
Guess what? If you don’t find what you’re looking for in your county, you can join 4-H where you find the best fit. 4-H wants you to be part of the family!
