The SipSafe program, conducted by the Mississippi State University Extension Service and funded by a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is working to reduce lead exposure in children ages birth to 5 years by screening water in qualifying schools and childcare facilities.

Benton County

Forestry and forest products are major components of Benton County’s economy. Forest-related economic sectors generate value not only within the forest-related sectors but also in other sectors of the economy. The economic contributions of forest-related sectors and their contributions on other sectors can be estimated using input-output analysis. Using 2018 data, this study estimates the total economic contributions of forestry and the forest products industry to Benton County, Mississippi.
