Ivyleaf (Impomoea hederacea)

vs.

Entireleaf (Impomoea hederacea var. integriuscula)

Three pots representing the morningglory family. All three have boxy cotyledons and small, brown, round seeds, but their first true leaves are different in these ways: Red morningglory’s first true leaf has points at the leaf edge and no hair. Ivyleaf morningglory’s first true leaf has three lobes and is hairy. Entireleaf morningglory’s first true leaf is heart-shaped and hairy.
