Pest Management Professional Training Workshop

Live Webinar Option Only for January 2025 Workshop

The Pest Management Professional Training Workshop provides training and recertification for owners, managers, pest control registered technicians, and certified applicators working in the Mississippi Professional Pest Management Industry. This 7-hour workshop (two separate webinars) covers both structural and household insect pests and is approved for recertification in the following Mississippi categories:

-WDI (Wood destroying insect control)

            License, Permit, Registered Technician

-GRC (General pest and rodent control)

            License, Permit, Registered Technician

-Category VII(A) (Industrial, Institutional, and Structural Pest Control)

This training is co-sponsored by the Mississippi State University Extension Service’s Urban Pest Management Program and the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce/Bureau of Plant Industry, in cooperation with the Mississippi Pest Control Association.

The next MSU Extension Pest Management Professional Training Workshop will be held virtually on January 24, 2025. The virtual workshop will run from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with a break from 11 a.m. - noon. Note: ALL PARTICPANTS SEEKING RECERTIFICATION CREDIT MUST REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY FOR BOTH WEBINARS SEPERATELY AND MUST PARTICIPATE IN BOTH. THE WORKSHOP WILL CONSIST OF TWO DIFFERENT LIVE WEBINARS – ONE MORING AND ONE AFTERNOON.

This workshop will have both a morning and afternoon live webinar component. The morning component will be presented by both the Mississippi State University Extension Service and the Mississippi Department of Agriculture & Commerce – Bureau of Plant Industry and will cover German roaches and rodents as well as Mississippi rules and regulations. The afternoon component will be live streamed free of charge via the University of Georgia and will consist of multiple experts on the Formosan subterranean termite from the North American Termite Survey (NATS) Working Group.

  • You will receive a Zoom webinar link by email a day or two before the meeting. Be sure to provide the e-mail address where you want to receive the training when you register.
  • Remember to register for BOTH this webinar and the NATS webinar individually to qualify for Mississippi credit
  • Be sure to provide license number/technician card number if taking for recertification

North American Termite Survey (NATS) Webinar

  • 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM 
  • No Registration Fee
  • Each person, whether watching in a group or not, must register (link below) with their own email address – the same process as when attending our monthly GTBOP webinars, if you’ve ever attended one of those.
  • After registration you will be sent a Zoom link. This is yours and only yours. Click on the link to access the webinar on January 24.
  • Never share your link with anyone, as it will jeopardize your and their credit.
  • A sign in sheet (attached) must be signed by each person requesting credit and returned to us a gtbop@uga.edu. Please DO NOT sign the sign in sheet days prior to the webinar.
  • When you mail the scanned copy of the sign in sheet to us at gtbop@uga.edu, indicate whether you watched alone or in a group and if you can please list the names of those in your group.
