Nurturing Homes Initiative

collage of children in educational environments

The Nurturing Homes Initiative (NHI) program, funded by the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS), is dedicated to enhancing the quality of early education experiences in family childcare homes. Our mission revolves around providing mentorship, elevating the learning environment, and delivering research-based information, all aimed at nurturing and enriching the development of children.

How We Can Help You

Who qualifies for NHI?

In-home unlicensed and licensed childcare providers who provide full-time year-round childcare services to children from birth to 5 years of age.

Technical Assistance

Through one-on-one visits to your home, our year-long program offers dedicated support from coaches to help you achieve your goals and tailor professional development activities specifically to your needs. Additionally, upon completion of the year-long program, you will have the option to continue and further enhance your growth and success.

Educational Materials

You will receive valuable educational resources, provided to correspond with lessons, that engage and inspire young learners. These materials will foster creativity while enhancing your learning center.

Child Development Associate Credential Online

The CDA Credential will be offered online to interested providers participating in the NHI program.
