What Is Extension?

The Mississippi State University Extension Service is the educational outreach arm of MSU, delivering research-based information and practical education to individuals, families, businesses, and communities from offices in all 82 counties in Mississippi.

We have four program areas:

• Agriculture and Natural Resources
• 4-H Youth Development
• Community and Economic Development
• Family, Health, and Wellness

• agricultural producers and professionals
• forestry, soil and water conservation, and other natural resources professionals
