Cooking Matters for Adults is a hands-on course that will empower adults with the skills to be self-sufficient in the kitchen.
Target Audience(s):
Limited-resource parents and caregivers of children ages 0 to 5
Objectives:
Participants will:
- Learn practical strategies to stretch food dollars through meal planning, smart grocery shopping, and budgeting techniques.
- Gain the knowledge and confidence to prepare healthy, nutritious meals that support the health and well-being of their children and families.
- Develop essential food preparation skills, including knife safety, reading nutrition and ingredient labels, selecting and using fresh, frozen, and canned fruits and vegetables, and preparing healthy, affordable meals at home.
Total Number of Lessons:
6 (one night a week for six weeks)
Total Number of Hours:
12 (each class lasts two hours)
