STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Central and north Mississippi producers can provide input on agricultural research and outreach programming at Mississippi State University during two Producer Advisory Council meetings in February.

Annual PAC meetings present opportunities for growers to meet with commodity experts from the MSU Extension Service and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, share ideas for research and educational projects, and tour the research and Extension centers in their area.

The Central Mississippi Research and Extension Center will host producers on Feb. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McKenzie Arena, located at 1200 Seven Springs Road in Raymond. Producers in northern Mississippi will gather on Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center. The meeting will be at the center’s Magnolia Building, located at 5395 Highway 145 South in Verona. To register, visit http://msuext.ms/northpac26. The meetings will begin with general sessions before breaking off into several commodity groups. In Verona, those groups include agronomic crops; apiculture; beef; dairy; equine; forestry and wildlife; goats and sheep; horticulture; poultry; sweet potato; and swine.

Commodities represented in Raymond will be apiculture; small ruminants; agronomic crops; forestry and wildlife; beef, forage and equine; and vegetables, fruits and nuts.

Online registration for the meetings is encouraged, but on-site registration will be available beginning one hour before each meeting starts. Each meeting includes a free catered lunch.
