COLUMBUS, Miss. -- Catfish farmers and infrastructure personnel are invited to the Winter National Warmwater Aquaculture Center Catfish Seminar Dec. 2.

The seminar will be held at the Mississippi State University Extension Service office in Lowndes County from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The Extension office is located at 485 Tom Rose Road in Columbus.

Speakers with MSU and the U.S. Department of Agriculture will speak on various topics, including nutrition, genetics, fish health, industry status, water quality, physiology and bird depredation. 

Registration is free and encouraged by Dec. 1. To register, call 662-686-3269. Lunch will be provided.

The event is organized by personnel with the MSU Extension Service, Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station and USDA.
