Listening to Producers

Mississippi Research and Extension Centers host Producer Advisory Council meetings

More than 400 Mississippi farmers participated in the 2026 Producer Advisory Council meetings held at three of the state’s Research and Extension Centers.

This forum for ag producers gives them the chance to meet directly with and talk to Mississippi State University administrators, researchers, specialists, and agents with the Extension Service and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station.

PAC meetings allow Extension agents and specialists to identify and address farmers’ needs and challenges. These conversations allow Extension to share research-based information that can directly address producers’ concerns.

The Coastal, Central, and North Mississippi Research and Extension Centers hosted these events in Biloxi, Raymond, and Verona, respectively, and common topics included apiculture (honey bee health), forestry, and livestock.

Additional topics varied by region.
