Cotton

What is the recommended seeding rate for cotton?

It is recommended that the final plant population be in the range of 40,000 to 45,000 plants per acre. This is approximately 3-4 living plants per foot of row in a 38-40 inch row. To obtain this, it is recommended that the warm germination and cool germination be used to determine the number of seed to drop per foot of drill.

Planters should always be calibrated to deliver a specified number of seed per foot of row and "NOT" a specified number of pounds of seed per acre. This number should be based on germination and desired plant populations.
