Which produces more...zucchini or yellow squash?

Zucchini and yellow squash produce the same number of fruit per plant. The difference is the final size of fruit. A yellow squash will seldom grow larger than 15 inches in length, while a zucchini left on the plant may exceed 3 feet in length. This is not important to commercial producers since market size for either does not exceed 8 inches and most supermarkets want fruit less than 6 inches long.
