Magnolia Botanical Garden
The vegetable/ornamental horticulture research unit was added to the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center in 1996. It was established to evaluate the adaptability of new and old cultural practices and plant materials in North Mississippi.
The Magnolia Botanical Garden was started in 1997 as a demonstration garden and educational resource for green industry professionals and consumers.
A renovation of the gardens, including the Formal Rose Garden, was completed in 2020 with the goal of turning the gardens into an educational outreach center for Mississippi.
