MSU offers workshop on wedding floral design
VERONA, Miss. -- Professional florists and others interested in the business can learn how to design and market fresh flowers for weddings and other events during an upcoming three-day workshop in Verona.
Jim DelPrince, floral specialist with the Mississippi State University Extension Service, will conduct the Wedding Floral Design Workshop April 9-11.
The workshop will be held at the MSU North Mississippi Research and Extension Center located at 5421 Mississippi Highway 145. It begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. on April 9. It begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. on April 10 and 11. Registration costs $375 per person and includes materials and lunches. Designers should bring their own tools. Seating is limited.
The workshop is intended for individuals who sell or plan to sell flowers for profit. Topics include altar design, table arrangements, bouquet design, and flower care and handling.
DelPrince is a laureate of the American Institute of Floral Design and taught students in the MSU floral design program for 20 years before joining Extension. He has nearly 40 years of experience in the professional floristry industry.
