Beef Unit Field Day highlights research
MISSISSIPPI STATE -- Beef cattle producers should make plans to spend the day on campus for the Mississippi State University Beef Unit Field Day.
The field day will be from 9 a.m. until noon on May 2. Lunch will be served at the conclusion of the field day. The Beef Unit is located at the H.H. Leveck Animal Research Center, often called South Farm.
The Beef Unit Field Day will feature updates on research programs conducted by animal and dairy sciences faculty members on topics such as stocker cattle health and management, reproduction, nutrition and genetics. Updates to the breeding and management programs also will be highlighted. Immediately after lunch, alumni from the Block and Bridle and Judging teams will meet.
At the MSU baseball game that afternoon, the Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association will host Beef Day at the Ballpark.
The event is hosted by the MSU Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station.
Participants are asked to reserve meals by calling 662-325-2802 or emailing mquinn@ads.msstate.edu.
