Mississippi Land Stewards Training

Wednesday, May 22, 2024 -
10:00am - 2:00pm

Location: Mississippi Museum of Natural Science

We’re pleased to announce that registration is open for the Mississippi Land Stewards spring in-service training opportunity. The statewide program is focused on the foundational principles that guide the conservation practices used to enhance land stewardship for both working agricultural and recreational lands. Training objectives are for agriculture and natural resource professionals to leave with an understanding of these principles, their applications, and tools for communicating with and providing resources to diverse clients. Particular focus will be on resource concerns of wildlife habitat, soil and watershed health and government programs that provide financial and technical assistance to landowners. The goal of this training is to improve agricultural and natural resource professional’s ability to advance conservation delivery, adoption, and impact.

The event is free, and lunch will be provided. The public registration link is attached, but if you want in-service credit, you must register through the intranet in-service training system. The training opportunity will also be open to ANR professionals with other agencies, including the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, MDWFP, the MS Soil and Water Conservation Commission and others, so it’s always a great opportunity to network with state agency folks!
