2022 General Pest Management Workshop (April 18-October 30)

The General Pest Management Workshop is being offered in 2022 as an online on-demand workshop. The course will be available on-demand from Monday, April 18, 2022 (8:00 AM), through Sunday, October 30, 2022 (11:45 PM). Course participants will have access to videos or computer-generated presentations recorded by Mississippi State University Extension specialists or Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Experiment Station researchers on various topics, including calibration of application technology, preemergence and postemergence crabgrass control, weed control, managing turfgrass diseases, diseases of hemp, pesticide risk assessments for pollinators, insect pests of hayfields, insecticides for commercial vegetables, and pesticide labels.
The 2022 General Pest Management Workshop has been approved by the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce Bureau of Plant Industry (MDAC BPI) for consultant license renewal for categories A (Entomology – Agricultural), G (Plant Pathology – Agricultural), J (Plant Pathology – Ornamental and Shade Tree), K (Weed Control – Agricultural), M (Weed Control – Forest and Right of Way), and N (Weed Control – Ornamental and Turf). The workshop has also been approved by MDAC BPI for commercial recertification for categories I(A) – Agricultural Pest Control - Plant, III – Ornamental and Turf Pest Control, VI – Right-of-Way Pest Control, and X – Demonstration and Research Pest Control. Only certificates expiring within 12 months with be reissued. Participants MUST complete all course activities, including watching presentation videos, passing presentation quizzes, and submitting the final evaluation in order to receive renewal and/or recertification.
Those wishing to participate in the General Pest Management Workshop must register for the course here. The registration fee is $20 and must be paid via credit card. A course enrollment email will be received 10 minutes after successfully registering for the event. The enrollment email will include a link to the course to get started. First-time participants of online courses by MSU Extension will need to create an MSU Extension Service account to register and access the online course.
