SHAPE-CARE

SHAPE-CARE will educate parents on bio-physiological (sleep and emotion regulation) and relational concepts with the broad goal of improving children’s academic readiness. This program will teach parents of pre-school aged children about the necessary tools they need to improve their co-parenting quality and conflict management skills; provide an understanding of the importance of sleep for family relations and child adjustment, particularly school readiness and behavior; and provide parents with practical tips for improving their own and their child’s sleep (e.g. amount, quality, and schedule for sleep) in an effort to indirectly improve the emotional climate of the family, and ultimately children’s academic readiness.
