Farm Animal Welfare Training

Farm Animal Welfare Training will provide participants with a basic understanding of farm animal welfare, animal handling, best management practices, and Mississippi laws that pertain to farm animals.

Target Audience(s):

Members of a community who would report or receive reports of farm animal abuse or neglect

Objectives:

Participants will learn:

  • How to assess welfare in cattle, horses, swine, sheep, and goats;
  • How to safely handle livestock;
  • About key contacts to reference for advice; and
  • The laws that pertain to farm animals.
