2019 Vegetable Pest Management in High Tunnels and Greenhouses

MSU Extension will be offering two one-day workshops in 2019 that focus on pest management in vegetables grown in enclosed structures (high tunnels and greenhouses). The first workshop will be held at the Central Mississippi Research and Extension Center in Raymond, MS, on Tuesday, August 27, 2019.
This workshop will be repeated at the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center, 5421 MS-145, Verona, MS, on Thursday, August 29, 2019. MSU Extension specialists will discuss abiotic disorders, disease management, insect management, pesticide safety and regulation, and weed management (high tunnels). The program will begin at 9:20 AM and will end at 4:15 PM.
Check-in will begin at 9:00 AM.
The cost of the workshop is $20 and includes lunch and refreshments and snacks provided during breaks.
Registration and payment of the $20.00 registration fee by Monday, August 19, 2019, is required to reserve a spot in this workshop.
After August 19, anyone interested in attending the workshop must contact Dr. Rebecca A. Melanson (contact information below) at the Central Mississippi Research and Extension Center to determine availability of space.
Registration may be completed by sending in the completed registration form with your registration fee. Checks must be made payable to “MSU CMREC” and received by August 19. Please include “Vegetable Pest Management Workshop” on the check and mail it and your registration form to Dr. Melanson (address below).
The 2019 Vegetable Pest Management in High Tunnels and Greenhouses program has been approved by the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce Bureau of Plant Industry (MDAC BPI) for consultant license renewal for categories A (Entomology – Agricultural), G (Plant Pathology – Agricultural), and K (Weed Control - Agricultural). The workshop has also been approved by MDAC BPI for commercial recertification for categories I(A) (Agricultural Pest Control – Plant) and X (Demonstration and Research Pest Control). Only certificates expiring within 12 months with be reissued.
