This training is for anyone interested in selling fresh produce or acidified canned foods at a Mississippi Certified Farmers' Market.
This workshop will explain why food safety is important, how to handle fresh fruits and vegetables at a farmers' market, explain the rules and laws governing the sell for produce and cottage foods at a farmers' market. The acidified canned foods portion will cover the federal and Mississippi food processing regulations, facility recommendations, explain the importance of pH and water activity , acidification methods, and you can bring a sample of your product to be tested for free.
